At his core, Brian Luther is an educator and coach. Before entering the financial services industry, Brian spent 18 years as a high school English teacher and 25 years as a successful head basketball coach. His passion for helping others learn, grow, and gain confidence has remained the foundation of his career.
Brian began his financial services career with Compass Financial Resources in 2001 while he was still teaching and coaching. Motivated by a desire to help educators build stronger financial futures, he started working with teachers, coaches, administrators, and their families on financial planning and retirement strategies. As his advisory practice grew, Brian transitioned to serving clients full-time in 2003.
Today, Brian brings both professional expertise and firsthand experience to the educators he serves. Having spent much of his career in the classroom and on the sidelines, he understands the unique financial challenges, opportunities, and retirement decisions facing school employees. His mission is to help hardworking educators gain confidence in their financial future and create a plan that aligns with their goals and values.
Brian is an Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial and a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). He is also a member of Ed Slott's Elite IRA Advisor Group®, an exclusive organization of financial professionals dedicated to advanced retirement and IRA planning strategies.
Brian and his wife, Tammy, reside in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tammy is a retired elementary school teacher. They have two daughters: Shara, a Doctor of Occupational Therapy in Omaha, Nebraska, and Chelsea, who serves clients as a Financial Advisor with Compass Financial Resources. Brian and Tammy are also proud grandparents of four grandchildren who keep them active and engaged.
When he's not helping clients prepare for retirement, Brian enjoys traveling and spending time with family. He and Tammy are currently on a mission to visit every U.S. National Park, combining their love of adventure, nature, and exploring America's great landscapes.
