Why Compass

Relationships

Relationships with our clients are characterized by a sense of collaboration, efficiency and high-touch personal service. We understand how financial matters impact every area of life – from work and family, to lifestyle and charitable interests. In the end, we are only successful to the extent that we have made a difference in the lives of our clients, whether it is a more comfortable retirement, a wise investment or the realization of a life-long dream.

Leadership

As Americans transition into retirement, they face many decisions. Developing a plan to coordinate these decisions is critically important. The explosion of information on the Internet, on television and in newspapers has made it more difficult for people to separate reliable information from hype. With all of this competing information, people are confused and are seeking an advisor who can provide clarity and help them make prudent choices. We act as a catalyst to guide them through their life experiences so that they can feel confident in their decisions regardless of what’s going on around them.

Wisdom & Experience

We believe that successful financial planning requires an understanding of both the financial and personal aspects of our client’s life. At Compass, we have the background and skills necessary to take a comprehensive view of our client’s situation offering them guidance in every aspect of their financial life. We blend technical experience with integrity, empathy and a keen understanding of human behavior in order to provide sound financial management.

We recognize that many people lead active and complex lives. Managing finances is more complicated and time-consuming than ever before. You can rely on our wisdom, our perspective and our experience to help navigate through the most challenging, yet most important financial stages of your lives.

Independent

Being independent allows us access to a wide range of wealth management and investment advisory products & services. We do not want a “corporate agenda” being imposed on our clients such as, having to sell a proprietary product, the inability to offer more competitive (i.e. lower) pricing, or only being able to provide “in-house” investment research. Being an independent financial advisor means that we have chosen this path in order to remove any conflict of interest that could undermine the values, needs and goals of our clients. The benefit for being independent is so that we can offer advice that is objective and in the best interest of our clients.

Adaptability

Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, “In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” Your future is not a fixed destination but rather a dynamic moving target with many unpredictable events along the journey. Prudent planning requires adaptation as you move into different life phases.

Adaptability is like water coming down the side of a mountain. It starts at the top and has a goal to get to the bottom. So, it starts its decent. Where Adaptability becomes a strength is in what happens when it encounters obstacles. When there’s a boulder in the way, or a tree, it just naturally finds a way around. It doesn’t stop its forward motion (at least not for long). It keeps moving. It’s able to adjust and adapt to its surroundings.

For us, it is the ability to help others calmly see ways around. Even if the way isn’t obvious.
